Snow Day Tarot
Today I woke up to a bright white landscape of roughly six inches of snow, a pristine shine coating the world around me. The picturesque snowscape blankets everything, reminding us that all things can be swept away at any moment to create something new. It’s a reminder to be present. Here and now. It’s the only thing that exists.
The snow outlines each branch and twig on the trees, showcasing the natural elegance and wonder of the design of trees. Its as if nature wanted to remind us to marvel at the masterpiece of trees so it sent down snow to trace its form and highlight its beauty.
Snow wants us to recognize the gorgeous miracles of nature and see ourselves as a part of it all. Connected. Rooted.
The snow is so bright, its almost blinding. Looking out at the hillside makes me squint. Its another metaphor for this time of year. It is saying “Stop looking outside, instead look inward.” This is the time of year for reflection.
The snow beckons me to stay inside, cancel my plans, and focus on rest. Focus on the internal work instead of the external. Snow reminds us all to slow down. I’ll be listening to that wisdom today.
After I took Charlie out to do his business, and he ran zoomies throughout the yard to showcase his excitement for the season, it was time to shovel, then shower, then into fresh pajamas for the day.
The rest of today, I’ll be sipping tea in my warm PJs on the couch. Snow days are meant for relaxing and savoring warmth by the fire. It’s a day for eating chili with chips and dip in small portions multiple times throughout the day.
I pulled a tarot card today, just one, while thinking, what do I need to know about today? The universe responded with the IV of Wands.
Wands represent the spiritual world and it’s a fire element so it connects with our passion and creativity. All fours tell us we have or are building a solid foundation. I’m taking this to mean that I’ve built a strong foundation to connect with spirit and use my writing as a creative force in the world.
In the book, it says, “You find satisfaction with your efforts and in your relationships. It’s time to enjoy your success and celebrate with others. Find happiness and harmony in community through productive collaborations. You’re perfecting your work so find rest after the labor.” Say no more, universe, I’m on it!
I’m going to hang with my husband and dog, enjoy the partnership and the harmony we’ve created here in our home, and savor that joy of no where to go on this snow day.
The cards continue to confirm my intuition. I am excited to see what new “productive collaborations” I’ll find soon. If you’re interested in collaborating in some way, reach out!

I accidentally made my dog into a cat so no way! She can’t tolerate … weather lol! So it’s so much fun for me seeing how much real dogs enjoy it.
Charlie looks like he’s having a blast! What a delight our dogs are!
